A Complete Guide to Prices in Belgrade (2025)

How much is going to cost me a stay in Belgrade?

Fear not! We’ve done the math so you can focus on the fun 🙂

After crunching the numbers, we’ve concluded that for a comfortable 10-day stay as a backpacker in Belgrade, you should budget around €500 with accomodation included.

Curious about how we arrived at this figure? Well, we kept it simple and followed the golden rules of every seasoned backpacker: stay in hostels to save on accommodation, enjoy local food, and if you can, cook at least one meal yourself. Try to walk as much as possible, but if you need to, go for public transport instead of taking a taxi. Don’t splurge on expensive drinks at clubs—have a few with your roommates instead and try to steer clear of pricey restaurants!

We understand that we all have different ideas of the perfect getaway so since your ideal vacation might look completely different from said above, we’ve put together a list of the most important and common expenses to help you plan your budget.

Let’s dive into the average prices so you can easly calculate how much are you going to need to enjoy your trip without keeping one eye on your bank account all the time.

Transportation

  • Airport Shuttle (to the city center): €25-30
Getting from the airport to the city center is straightforward, and this shuttle service is both convenient and affordable.

The easiest way to book an airport shuttle is to message your host with flight details and arrival time – they can book you a driver.

  • Bus/Tram Tickets (ride in the city): €0

Public transport won’t cost a penny. It is completly free. The bus app is called BeogradPlus, use it to check when is your bus or tram coming.

  • Taxi Ride (up to 5 km): €6-10
Taxis are a reliable option for shorter distances. Be careful, some taxi drives can be rude and try to charge you more than needed. You shouldn’t pay more than 10 euros for 5 km ride (and that’s only if there’s a lot of traffic on the road). Taxi service we recomend is Pink taxi or Yandex taxi.

Accommodation

  • Hostel/apartment: €20

A cost for a night in a decent hostel usually is around 20 euros but with some last/first minute or other special offers and discounts this price can go even lower.

Our best recommendation is Good People Hostel.

    Internet

    • Tourist SIM Card :  €6 for 15GB (valid for 15 days)

We strongly recommend to buy Yettel tourist sim card – other providers are also fine but offer less for more money.

    Food and Drink

    • Groceries for 1 Day (self-cooked meal): Up to €10 (for regular meals)
Cooking your own meals can save you money, especially if you shop wisely.

Tip: buy your groceries at closest market, or Maxi and Idea shop.

    • Fast Food (street food): €3 to €7 (options like barbecue, pancakes, and gyros)
Not only delicious but also easy on your wallet.
    • Restaurants – Big meal + Drink (regular): €15-20 per person
Dining out is accessible, with plenty of options to suit every taste.
    • Drinks:
      • Coffee: €1-3
      • Bottle of Water (500ml): €0.50 – €1
      • Beer at a Bar: €2-4
      • Cocktail in a Bar: €5-8

    Entertainment

    • Cinema Ticket: €6-10 (depending on the cinema and movie, plus any special deals).
